About Our Team
UMMC Midtown Campus is a 180-bed community teaching hospital located in Baltimore's vibrant Mount Vernon neighborhood. We pride ourselves on providing comprehensive medical and surgical care to our community, focusing on managing chronic diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, pulmonary conditions, and infectious diseases.

Your Responsibilities
• Provide independent care to our unit-specific patient population, serving as a clinical resource for colleagues and integrating evidence-based practices into your work
• Collaborate effectively with our interdisciplinary team to plan and coordinate patient care, addressing their unique needs and preferences
• Participate in the development and evaluation of our Relationship-Based Care model, suggesting improvements and contributing to data collection related to quality indicators
• Contribute to implementation efforts aimed at improving Nursing Sensitive Quality Indicators (NSQI)
• Perform treatments, including medication administration, as ordered by physicians and carry out nursing interventions according to individualized Plans of Care
• Evaluate patient responses to treatments/interventions through reassessment and revise Plans of Care as necessary
• Document assessments and reassessments thoroughly, accurately, and in a timely manner, communicating changes to the team
• Assess patient teaching needs and develop education plans accordingly, completing patient and family teaching and documenting understanding
• Communicate effectively with other healthcare team members to ensure continuity and coordination of care, reporting changes in patient condition and facilitating safe and timely patient throughput

Requirements
• Licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Maryland or eligibility due to Compact state agreements outlined through the MD Board of Nursing; BSN preferred
• One year of nursing experience with solid knowledge and clinical skills; up-to-date status on mandatory training and classes
• Current CPR certification; maintenance of 10 contact hours of education every two years
