Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the Department: Provide strategic direction and oversight to the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care, education, and research.
  • Develop and Implement Strategic Plans: Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and implement strategic plans that align with the University's mission and goals.
  • Recruit and Retain Top Talent: Attract and retain exceptional faculty and staff, fostering a culture of excellence and innovation.
  • Advance Research and Education: Promote and support research and educational initiatives that advance the field of pathology and laboratory medicine.
  • Ensure Quality and Safety: Oversee the development and implementation of quality and safety initiatives that meet or exceed regulatory standards.


Requirements

  • MD or MD/PhD Degree: Possess a medical degree or equivalent, with a strong record of scholarly activity and leadership experience.
  • Board Certification: Hold appropriate board certification based on specialty.
  • Medical License: Be eligible for or currently hold a medical license in the state of California.
  • Leadership Experience: Demonstrate a strong record of leadership experience, with a proven track record of success in academic and clinical settings.
