A-Line Staffing Solutions is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our Pediatrics team.

The ideal candidate will perform initial-response screenings, assist with patient examinations and procedures, and ensure a positive patient experience in our clinic.

This role requires strong clinical skills and effective communication abilities.

Schedule:

Monday to Friday

Typical hours: 8 AM - 5 PM, with some shifts from 7 AM - 7:30 PM (Monday and Thursday late nights).

Flexibility to accommodate a variety of shifts

Pay Range:

$18-19 per hour

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform initial-response screening following protocols approved by the supervising provider.
  • Escort patients to examination rooms and prepare them for examinations, procedures, and treatments.
  • Obtain vital signs and record them in the electronic health record (EHR).
  • Collect and document patient history using critical thinking skills.
  • Prepare and assist with examinations, procedures, and treatments as per established protocols.
  • Administer and document medications and immunizations, ensuring compliance with the six rights of medication administration.
  • Document care provided during patient visits in the EHR.
  • Recognize and respond to emergencies promptly.
  • Monitor and respond to patient requests via telephone, In-Basket messages, and My Chart.
  • Enter medication, radiology, and lab orders for provider sign-off.
  • Discharge patients with after-visit instructions as directed by the provider.
  • Collect and process specimens, perform CLIA-waived tests, and conduct electrocardiography and respiratory testing as needed.
  • Conduct phlebotomy (venipuncture and capillary puncture).
  • Serve as a liaison between patients and medical staff regarding issues or complaints.
  • Schedule, coordinate, and monitor patient appointments and outpatient procedures.
  • Obtain insurance pre-authorizations and enter referrals for provider sign-off.
  • Participate in departmental Quality Assessment and Improvement Programs.
  • Maintain compliance with safety standards, regulatory standards, and infection control practices.
  • Educate patients on office policies, health maintenance, and treatment plans.
  • Identify community resources for patient needs.
  • Maintain examination and treatment rooms, including inventory management.

Qualifications & Experience:

2+ years of experience as a Medical Assistant with pediatric immunization experience preferred.

Education:

Graduate from a Medical Assistant program with a 160-hour externship OR

1+ year clinical experience without an externship OR

5+ years of experience with Professional Medical Assistant Certification OR

LPN, EMT/Paramedic, or Military-trained medical personnel with 1+ year clinical experience.

Certification:

Current BLS-C (Basic Life Support) required.

Preferred Certification:

AAMA/CMA, RMA, CCMA, or NCMA certifications are a plus.
