About the Role

As an Electrical System Specialist at General Dynamics Land Systems, you will play a vital part in maintaining and repairing electrical equipment and power systems in our plant.

This is a full-time position that requires a high school diploma or equivalent and 8 years of experience in the electrical trade or a Journeyman Electrician certification.

Responsibilities

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Laying out, installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical equipment and power systems in our plant.
  • Using various types of testing equipment to locate and correct trouble.
  • Working on energized circuits when required.
  • Making functional tests to determine that electricity-powered or electrically controlled machines or equipment operate properly after installation or repair.
  • Determining horsepower requirements, line loads, material requirements, etc.
  • May be assigned to specialized work within the classification.
  • May be assisted by a Helper.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Be at least 18 years old.
  • Be a Journeyman Electrician or have 8 years of experience in the electrical trade.
  • Be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Be able to obtain/maintain a security clearance.
  • Successfully complete the pre-employment process, including medical exams, drug screens, and background checks.
  • Obtain Department of Army Police unescorted access.
  • Have the ability to read and work from blueprints.
  • Have a valid state-issued driver's license.
