We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Diagnostic Sciences Director to join our Translational and Diagnostic Sciences Organization.

About the Role

The Diagnostic Sciences Director will provide subject matter expertise in the development and execution of companion biomarker diagnostic programs for our product development and brand teams. This role will work closely with the Translational Medicine team to implement the diagnostic strategy, including the development of supportive arguments for complex projects and the delivery of diagnostic products that enhance the value of our pharmaceutical product profile.

Key Responsibilities

• Represent the Diagnostic Sciences function on asset Development, Brand, and Translational Medicine teams for which companion, complementary, or other in vitro diagnostic development is within strategy.
• Collaborate effectively with an integrated organizational framework across translational medicine and R&D.
• Form alliances across scientific disciplines and participate in decision-making processes that require developing new options to solve highly complex problems for the completion of team goals.
• Coordinate the Diagnostic Sciences matrix subteams for specific diagnostic products or indications to enhance the value of the assets through the incorporation of diagnostic biomarkers into exploratory, clinical, regulatory, and Medical/Commercial strategies.
• Provide technical direction to business development-led search, evaluation, and transactions for diagnostic partnering.
• Coordinate all executable activities between the Development/Brand team and external diagnostic partners, responsible for the delivery of diagnostic partner critical milestones, such as technical development and validation, clinical validation, and regulatory activities.
• Participate in commercial planning and medical strategy as related to the diagnostic product.
• Provide internal and external subject matter expertise for BMS Diagnostic Sciences and precision medicine activities, including acquiring and disseminating precision medicine knowledge for organizational learning and capability, and representing BMS Diagnostic Sciences to external stakeholders, including health authorities, medical customers, and presentations at scientific meetings.

Requirements

• Advanced technical degree, such as MSc, PhD, MD, DVM, or PharmD.
• Specific experience in the diagnostic industry, oncology biomarkers, diagnostic business development, and/or certification in laboratory medicine (e.g., ASCP) is a plus.
• Minimum of 3 years' experience in diagnostic assay development.
• Experience with or good working knowledge of biomarker/in vitro diagnostic platforms.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary matrix team.
• Comprehensive knowledge of principles, concepts, and/or methodologies within drug discovery, development, or production.
