MRG Exams West, a leader in independent medical examinations, is seeking a Physiatrist to perform medical assessments on United States Veterans as part of the VA's disability benefits process.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for reviewing medical health records through a secure Web Portal and conducting comprehensive assessments on each veteran.

A key aspect of this role is completing Disability Benefit Questionnaires (DBQ's) through the Web Portal. DBQ's are condition-specific forms created by the VA, which require documentation of exam findings necessary for the VA's decision-making process. It's essential to note that the Physiatrist will not make disability determinations; instead, they will provide medical opinions based on their assessments.

This position is distinct from traditional patient care and treatment, focusing on Independent Medical Assessments. As such, successful candidates should be interested in performing medical fact-finding and investigative roles. A strong typing skillset is also crucial, as the Physiatrist will spend a significant portion of their time electronically documenting exam findings.

Additionally, proficiency in finding key data points within large electronic medical records and analyzing data to complete DBQ's is essential. The ability to stay organized, manage time effectively, and meet requirements is vital for success in this role.

We are looking for a skilled Physiatrist who is proficient in using electronic medical records, has excellent analytical skills, and can work independently with minimal supervision. This is a PRN position, and the ideal candidate should be willing to review and assess approximately 3 veterans per day on average.

In terms of qualifications, candidates must hold a current license as a Physiatrist and be Board Certified in either Neurological Surgery, PM&R, or Psychiatry and Neurology. They must also meet the credentialing requirements set forth by the VA.

Salary: $120,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on experience. Benefits include flexible scheduling and opportunities for professional growth and development.
