Job Summary:

Custodians at FedEx Freight are responsible for maintaining a clean and safe work environment. This includes cleaning the physical structures, yard, and dock areas of the facility. The ideal candidate will have good cleaning techniques, floor buffing skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Clean and maintain the office area, including vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, and dusting

• Empty trash and recyclables

• Clean restrooms and maintain a clean and hygienic environment

• Perform general yard work, including cleaning, picking up trash, cutting grass, and maintaining gardens

• Maintain parking areas to keep them free of trash and debris

• Clean the dock and dock apron

• Perform minor building repairs and painting as needed

• Change light bulbs in the office area and on the dock

• Change air conditioner filters

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)

• Good cleaning techniques and floor buffing skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Good organizational skills and basic verbal and written communication skills

• Ability to bend, twist, squat, and pull/push custodial equipment throughout the shift

Working Conditions:

• Must be able to stand or walk for eight hours and do light lifting consistently

• Exposure to climate conditions of the geographic area

• Exposure to hot and cold soapy water, chemicals, dust, tobacco waste, or other irritants

Preferred Qualifications:

• Ability to follow instructions and complete required training
