Job Summary
The Caregiver Specialist is responsible for providing direct support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in residential settings. This role requires a strong ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively with others, to provide socialization, health maintenance, medication administration, and skill or behavioral development.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Attend orientation and ongoing training as directed
- Work scheduled hours, arrive on time, and stay on shift until replacement arrives
- Provide direct support or assistance in accordance with individual service plans
- Accurately document progress and activity, review records, and maintain confidentiality
- Maintain healthy and professional relationships with individuals, friends, families, guardians, and case managers
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred; six months of experience in human services preferred
- Valid driver's license in good standing (for transportation purposes)
- All state-required training and certification completed in mandated timeframes
Working Conditions
This role involves heavy physical demands, including exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Salary
The estimated annual salary for this position is $32,768.00, based on a 40-hour workweek and $15.25 per hour wage.
