Data Center Construction Specialist

NTI Connect is seeking a highly skilled Data Center Construction Technician to support the installation of infrastructure, including racks, cabinets, cage walls, hot/cold isle containment, grounding, fiber guide, Unistrut, and ladder rack, structured cabling, and maintain control of inside plant activities. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of relevant job experience and a strong understanding of industry standards.
The successful candidate will be responsible for performing data center cage and overhead ladder rack installations, reading and following design engineers' instructions, and preparing engineering field notes. They will also be expected to interpret engineering drawings, on maps, and in the field, and make recommendations for changes as required.
This is a field-based position that requires the ability to work in all weather conditions and lift up to 75 pounds. The successful candidate will be a team player who can coordinate and communicate activities with other employees, departments, and management.
Responsibilities:
- Perform data center cage and overhead ladder rack installations in accordance with industry standards.
- Read and follow design engineers' instructions and specifications.
- Prepare engineering field notes and interpret engineering drawings.
- Make recommendations for changes as required.

Qualifications & Skills:
- Knowledge of basic tools, construction practices, and communication networks.
- Knowledge of cable installation practices, dressing cables, lacing, etc.
- Knowledge of basic AC and DC power plants.
- Knowledge of fiber optic cable types, make-up of fiber optic cables, and manufacturer specifications.
- Knowledge of various manufacturers' ISP racks, cabinets, ladder rack, fiber guide, and termination panels.
- Knowledge of cable testing procedures and test equipment.
- Knowledge of inside plant safety measures.
- Knowledge of data center security processes.
- Strong computer skills with Microsoft applications.
- Ability to pay close attention to detail and make good sound decisions based on information given.
- Ability to multitask and stay organized under pressure.
Education Level: High School/GED
Field of Study: Electronics, Telecommunications, Construction, or Project Management
Physical Requirements: Sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl; lift 75 pounds; works in all weather conditions
