Job Summary

Evaluate and treat patients with communication disorders, including hearing, speech, and language disorders. Maintain accurate records, monitor progress, and counsel patients and their family members. Participate in multidisciplinary consultations to ensure comprehensive care.

Key Responsibilities

Perform diagnostic evaluations and screenings for in-patients and out-patients, including discharge planning. Document care and maintain records as required, tracking evaluations and treatments. Prepare treatment plans and recommendations based on patient needs. Screen and assess patients to develop individualized plans of care, discussing findings and collaborating with patients and family members on goal establishment. Develop programs to support patient performance in the home and community environment, monitoring response to treatment and adjusting plans as needed. Terminate services when maximum benefit is received and formulate follow-up plans when indicated. Provide treatment utilizing Speech and Language Pathology modalities and techniques, taking an active role in rehabilitation and departmental meetings. Perform related duties as required, ensuring compliance with Americans with Disabilities Act guidelines.

Qualifications

Master's Degree required, or equivalent combination of education and related experience. Current License to practice as a Speech Pathologist in New York State, and Current Clinical Competence - SPL (ASHA) Certification required, plus specialized certifications as needed. 1-3 years of relevant experience required.
