Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist to join our team at Northwell Health. As a CT Technologist, you will be responsible for preparing patients for CT scans, explaining procedures, and operating CT equipment to obtain high-quality images.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare patients for CT scans by explaining procedures, positioning patients, and ensuring proper slice thickness and couch increment.
  • Operate CT equipment to capture high-quality images, adjusting exposure factors and selecting proper contrast agents as needed.
  • Administer intravenous (IV) and oral contrast agents per Radiologist order, verifying patient contraindications and calculating contrast dose based on patient weight.
  • Perform venipuncture and utilize power injectors to administer IV contrast, recognizing and assisting in the treatment of contrast agent reactions and IV extravasations.
  • Collaborate with Radiologists to extend imaging protocols and adjust parameters as needed, ensuring high-quality images and accurate diagnoses.
Requirements
  • Graduate from an accredited Radiologic Technology program, required.
  • New York State Department of Health licensure as a Radiologic Technologist with certification in IV contrast administration, required.
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists registration in Computed Tomography R.T. (CT) (ARRT), required within eighteen (18) months of entry date into position.
  • Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS or BCLS), required.
  • Previous CT experience, preferred.
Additional Information
