Delivering Compassionate End-of-Life Care

VITAS Healthcare seeks a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to join our interdisciplinary team as an LPN/LVN. As an essential member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality nursing care to terminally ill patients and their families in accordance with the plan of care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Skilled Bedside Nursing Care: Provide direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse, ensuring the highest level of comfort and dignity for our patients.
  • Patient Assessments and Planning: Evaluate patient/family needs and participate in the development of the interdisciplinary plan of care, working closely with our healthcare team to ensure seamless care delivery.
  • Medication Administration and Documentation: Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, while maintaining accurate and timely documentation of patient progress.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Foster strong relationships with patients, families, and healthcare colleagues through effective communication and collaboration.
Requirements:
  • Nursing Education and Experience: A graduate of an approved school of practical/vocational nursing and at least one year of satisfactory nursing experience, with a minimum of one year as an LPN/LVN on an adult medical-surgical unit.
  • Licensure and Certification: Currently licensed to practice nursing in the state where the VITAS program is located.
  • Certifications: Valid certifications in basic life support (BLS) and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).
