Pathology Laboratory Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pathology Laboratory Specialist to join our team at Palm Careers LLC. Located in beautiful Southern New Mexico, this role offers a unique blend of career growth opportunities and work-life balance.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in histology, with experience in processing and preparing patient result reports on specimens submitted to the pathology section of the laboratory. A key responsibility of this position will be maintaining all equipment and instruments in the pathology section, including performing instrument calibrations and preparing reagents and stains for tissue/specimen processing.

**Key Responsibilities:**
- Prepare and process patient result reports on specimens submitted to the pathology section
- Maintain all equipment and instruments in the pathology section, including performing instrument calibrations
- Prepare reagents and stains for tissue/specimen processing
- Perform high-complexity testing procedures and report results promptly, accurately, and proficiently
- Follow specific written procedures for specimen handling and processing, testing analysis, reporting, and maintaining records of patient test results and proficiency survey testing
**Requirements:**
- Completion of a NAACLS-accredited histologic technician program or a minimum of an AS degree or BS degree from an accredited applied science program with clinical rotations
- ASCP certification as a Histologist (HT/HLT) or equivalent
- Experience with IHC, staining, cutting, grossing, frozen embedding, and other related techniques
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
