About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled Project Estimator to join our team at BrightView Landscape Development. As a key member of our pre-construction team, you will be responsible for preparing and running the weekly Sales and Estimating Meeting, reviewing bid schedules, and attending pre-job turnover meetings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and run the weekly Sales and Estimating Meeting
- Review bid schedules with the Branch Manager and Project Estimating Team
- Attend pre-job turnover meetings with other departments
- Work on multiple projects, performing multitasking and planning for future projects
- Participate in design-build projects and provide budget estimates or ROM
- Lead and develop a team of project estimators
- Utilize standard estimate computer software to present information to management
- Gather, calculate, and compile takeoff data for bid proposal estimates
- Perform quantity analysis, cost analysis, labor estimates, and subcontractor pricing
- Prepare routine estimates in partnership with the Branch Manager and Pre-construction team leader
- Review estimates with estimators for completeness and accuracy
- Evaluate project documents for constructability and value engineering opportunities
- Maintain current and accurate information on prices from suppliers and subcontractors
- Analyze and strategize bids, competitors, margin, and bid closure
- Develop and maintain resource information on products, vendors, subcontractors, government requirements, etc.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years experience in estimating or pre-construction
- Understanding and knowledge of On-Screen-Takeoff (OST) and HCSS preferred
- Proficiency with computer software programs including MS Office suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
- Strong work ethic
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Customer service experience
- Bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture, Landscape Horticulture, Civil Engineering, Construction Science, Construction Management, or related field
- Working understanding of Microsoft Project or Primavera Construction Scheduling software
- Bilingual (Spanish)
