Job Title: Full Stack Developer

Are you a skilled software developer looking for a challenging role that combines backend and frontend development? Do you have a passion for building scalable and efficient software systems? We're seeking a talented Full Stack Developer to join our team at United Rentals, Inc.

Job Summary:

We're looking for a highly motivated and experienced Full Stack Developer to design, develop, and deploy software systems that meet the needs of our customers. As a Full Stack Developer, you will work closely with our product team and other IT groups to analyze requirements, determine scope, estimate tasks, document, develop, test, deploy, and maintain solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the product team and other IT groups to analyze requirements and determine scope
  • Design and develop software systems that meet the needs of our customers
  • Build a thorough end-to-end understanding of API call chains for company websites and mobile apps
  • Design algorithms, workflows, and data models for backend systems to create new software features
  • Work with UX designers on new features and enhancements
  • Deploy, configure, and maintain programs and applications from frontend to middleware APIs to backend systems
  • Partner with IT Operations/Infrastructure to architect solutions that are secure, robust, and scalable
  • Perform tests to improve the quality of software promoted up through different stages of development and avoid performance issues
  • Perform root cause analysis across system call chains for issues reported
  • Research and follow the latest security requirements, software trends, and perform best-practice research to support team goals
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics preferred or equivalent compelling industry experience
  • 7+ years of software development experience
  • Experience in programming concepts and SQL programming (like SQL Server, DB2)
  • Strong critical thinking skills with in-depth experience in full stack development - PHP, Javascript, including frameworks like, web service APIs, HTML, CSS
  • Effectively communicate complex concepts with team members and vendors, both verbal and written
  • Rapidly absorb complex technical and/or conceptual information
  • Anticipate issues and provide solutions for complex problems
  • Balance a self-motivated, independent work ethic with intense cross-functional collaboration needed to drive project success
  • Hands-on software troubleshooting experience while under pressure
  • Experience working on a CMS like Drupal is strongly preferred
