Residential Instructor

At Community Residences, we are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residential Instructor to join our team. As a Residential Instructor, you will play a vital role in providing support and guidance to our clients, ensuring their safety and well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the Program Manager in developing and implementing programs for each client based on their individual needs and goals.
• Work collaboratively with consultants, such as speech therapists and occupational therapists, to ensure that our clients receive the necessary services and support.
• Conduct yourself as a positive role model, demonstrating good manners, dress, and conversation skills.
• Participate in staff meetings to enhance the services provided to our clients.
• Aid in maintaining positive relationships with the community.
• Familiarize yourself with Community Residences' policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with the same.
• Help maintain a clean and safe program site, inclusive of cleaning and vacuuming on a daily basis.
• Provide supervision to staff while working within the staff complement.

Requirements:

• Valid CT driver's license and a good driving record required.
• Must be able to become certified in CPR and First Aid.
• Demonstrate organizational ability.
• Demonstrate ability to communicate effectively with adults who are developmentally disabled.
• Demonstrate ability to supervise and guide other staff while acting on behalf of the Program Manager.
• Demonstrate ability to maintain consumers' right to privacy, and adhere to Community Residences' Confidentiality policy.
• Demonstrate knowledge of current issues in the field of Developmental Disabilities.

Education:

Bachelor's Degree, or an Associates Degree and one (1) year experience in the Human Services Field. Or: a high school diploma or GED with two (2) years' experience in the Human Services field.

Work Schedule:

Monday 1:30pm-10pm, Tuesday 2pm-10pm, Wednesday 1:30pm-10pm, 25 hours per week.
