Senior Electrical Engineer Job Description at Tech USA

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team at Tech USA. This is an exceptional opportunity for individuals who possess excellent technical knowledge, leadership skills, and the ability to drive projects forward.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for making major design recommendations and decisions with minimal input from senior staff. They will plan design work by discipline for various project sizes and assign tasks to staff members working on these projects.

This role also involves reviewing correspondence prepared by junior staff and actively participating in quality control of projects. Additionally, the Senior Electrical Engineer will contribute to leadership in some aspect of our Technical Operations Team for both large and small projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Makes major design recommendations and design decisions with little input from senior staff.
  • Plans design work by discipline for all project sizes and assigns duties to staff working on projects.
  • Reviews correspondence prepared by junior staff.
  • Actively participates in quality control of projects.

In this position, you will have the opportunity to act as an advisor and analyze technical problems, writing reports as needed. You will also play a significant role in project reviews for quality control of large complex projects.

Technical Path and Project Management

You will have the option to pursue either the Technical Path or the Project Management Path:

  • Technical Path:
    • Contributes to leadership in some aspect of our Technical Operations Team for both large and small projects.
    • Acts as an advisor and analyzes technical problems/writes reports.
    • Plays a significant role in project reviews for quality control for large complex projects.
    • Provides technical assistance to help resolve field issues, must be able to visit project sites and resolve technical issues with very little assistance from other senior staff.
  • Project Management Path:
    • Effectively serves as Project Manager on large complex projects or multiple smaller projects.
    • Identifies prospective clients, assists in marketing to develop new clients, and prepares proposals for services.
    • Consistently brings work into the firm with existing or new clients and participates in presentations to clients.
    • Other duties assigned by the employer.
    Required Skills and Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you must possess the following skills and qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and a minimum of 8 years of qualifying experience.
  • Professional Engineer license.
  • Mastery of the technical aspects of your discipline.
  • Ability to mentor, motivate, and lead others.
  • Ability to perform final quality control check in your area of expertise.
  • Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups.

Educational Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.

Experience Requirements: Minimum 8 years of qualifying experience.
