Cashier

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Cashier to join our team at Metro Market. As a Cashier, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, processing transactions efficiently, and maintaining a safe and clean environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Process customer transactions through the check lane quickly and accurately.
• Provide excellent customer service, answering questions and addressing concerns in a professional and courteous manner.
• Maintain a safe and clean environment, adhering to company policies and procedures.
• Understand and adhere to company policies on cash handling, including limits on cash shortages and overages.
• Stay current with present, future, seasonal, and special ads to provide customers with accurate information.
• Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
• Reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures and identifying unsafe conditions, accidents, or issues.
• Practice preventive maintenance by properly inspecting equipment and notifying appropriate departments or store managers of any items in need of repair.

Requirements:

• Customer service experience
• Ability to handle stressful situations
• Effective communication skills
• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction)
