Job Title: Packaging Machine Operator

Utz Quality Foods is seeking a skilled Packaging Machine Operator to join our team at our manufacturing facility in Algona, WA.

Job Summary:

The Packaging Machine Operator is responsible for the efficient operation of packaging machines, ensuring proper weight, spicing, sealing, and code dating of finished products.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Inspect equipment daily to ensure cleanliness and sanitation.
  • Check metal detectors as instructed.
  • Conduct changeovers, replacing packaging film as needed.
  • Coordinate proper spicing with correct packaging film.
  • Check code dates for accuracy every 15 minutes.
  • Inspect bag seams to ensure strong seals.
  • Work with quality control to ensure standards are met and maintain applicable records.
  • Maintain efficient operation of equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and proactively solve potential problems with equipment.
  • Communicate with production associates to ensure positive flow of production and achieve goals of the packaging schedule.
Requirements:
  • Minimum two years' experience in operating food processing equipment.
  • Thorough knowledge of machinery and sound mechanical ability.
  • Ability to use production computer program.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Ability to be an independent thinker and make good decisions.
  • Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment under constant pressure of production line environment.
  • Must be able to lift rolls of film weighing up to 50 pounds on a regular basis during the shift.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
