Medical Care Specialist

About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate LPN Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at Octapharma Plasma. As a critical care nurse, you will play a vital role in enhancing the lives of others through empathy, skill, and commitment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough medical evaluations of potential donors for automated plasmapheresis procedures.
- Determine donor suitability by consulting with a donor center physician and assessing new applicants.
- Provide limited emergency care, including administering medications or treatments as needed.
- Ensure compliance with criteria for normal plasma donors through regular evaluations.
- Review medical histories and perform suitability examinations to identify potential risks.
- Maintain accurate communication logs regarding donor suitability.
- Review test results to determine continued donor suitability and counsel donors with abnormal results accordingly.
- Complete cross-training as required to stay up-to-date with industry standards.
Requirements:
- Graduation from a recognized healthcare educational program.
- Current licensure as an LPN specific to the location of employment.
- Current certification in CPR.
- Ability to educate donors, staff, and community members about our plasma donation program.
- A high degree of organization, team orientation, flexibility, and comfort working in a fast-paced medical environment.
- Willingness and ability to maintain confidentiality of personnel and center information.
- Willingness and ability to work on weekends.
- Basic computer proficiency, preferably with Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Blood bank or plasma center experience is highly preferred.
- One or more years of hospital, field care, or plasma center experience is also preferred.

Salary Estimate: $65,000 - $80,000 per year, based on location and experience.
