Construction Estimator for Commercial Projects

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Construction Estimator to join our team. As a key player in our construction department, you will play a crucial role in the planning and execution of various commercial construction projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare detailed estimates for HVAC, mechanical, and piping/plumbing construction projects.
  • Analyze orthographic drawings and specifications to determine the scope of work and required contents of the estimate.
  • Use advanced software tools, such as Onscreen Take-Off and Trimble Business Center, to calculate quantities and cost estimates.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to gather all necessary data for accurate estimation.
  • Review and evaluate cost estimates to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Present estimates and conduct cost comparison analysis to senior management and clients.
  • Monitor and track project costs, identifying any potential risks or opportunities for cost savings.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends, techniques, and materials to ensure our estimates are competitive and realistic.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 8 years of experience as a HVAC Estimator, Commercial Construction Estimator, or a similar role in the construction industry.
  • Proven experience in HVAC, mechanical, and/or piping/plumbing construction is required.
  • Proficiency in using estimation software such as Onscreen Take-Off, Trimble Business Center, or equivalent.
  • Excellent understanding of orthographic drawings and the ability to interpret complex construction plans and specifications.
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills to calculate quantities and costs accurately.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex information clearly and concisely.
  • A proactive problem-solver with the ability to identify and mitigate potential risks.
  • A team player with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.
  • A degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred.
