**Job Title:** Perioperative Nursing Team Leader
About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Perioperative Nursing Team Leader to join our team at The Physicians Centre Hospital. As a key member of our perioperative nursing team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of our surgical suites.
Job Summary:
The Perioperative Nursing Team Leader is responsible for directing and/or providing professional perioperative nursing care for an assigned group of patients across the age continuum. You will utilize the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to direct or provide nursing care.
In addition to your clinical expertise, you will also be responsible for supervising and guiding other members of the operating room staff. You may be authorized to make decisions affecting the operating of the surgical suite in the absence of the Director of the Operating Room.
You will serve as a professional and technical subject matter expert for at least two surgical services, demonstrating the ability to relate and work effectively with others. Your willingness to participate in goal-setting and educational activities for your own professional advancement is essential.
Responsibilities:
- Direct and/or provide professional perioperative nursing care for an assigned group of patients.
- Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
- Supervise and guide other members of the operating room staff.
- Make decisions affecting the operating of the surgical suite in the absence of the Director of the Operating Room.
- Serve as a professional and technical subject matter expert for at least two surgical services.
Requirements:
- Registered Nurse; Current licensure in the State of Texas.
- Certification as a perioperative nurse (CNOR) preferred.
- Must have BLS and renew every 2 years prior to expiration.
- ACLS and PALS required within 6 months of employment or sooner if covering call or conscious sedation and renew both every 2 years prior to expiration.
Physical Requirements:
This role requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds or up to 150 pounds with assistance, push or pull 500 pounds with assistance, and stand for long periods. You must have optimal auditory acuity and manual dexterity to perform designated duties.
Compensation:
The estimated salary for this role is $85,000 - $115,000 per annum, based on experience and qualifications.
