About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Peer Recovery Coach to join our team at South Central Family Health Center. As a Peer Recovery Coach, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals experiencing mental health challenges and substance use disorders.

Job Description

Job Summary: Provide peer support services to individuals in recovery from mental health or substance use disorders, including one-on-one mentoring, group support sessions, and advocacy.

  • Assist individuals in developing and achieving personal wellness and recovery goals.
  • Conduct individual and small group meetings with patients to discuss their mental health progress, needs, and offer recommendations for improving treatment programs and services.
  • Ensure patients understand their rights and responsibilities, conduct patient satisfaction surveys, and address patient complaints by meeting privately with patients to gather information and follow up with them regarding actions taken to address their concerns.
Requirements

Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree preferred. High School Diploma or equivalent required. Certification as a Peer Support Specialist. Personal experience with behavioral health recovery (mental health and/or substance use disorders). Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse populations.
