Salary Information
The estimated annual salary for this position is around $95,000 to $110,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. This figure includes a generous sign-on bonus of up to $20,000, paid time off, and tuition reimbursement opportunities. In addition, you will receive top clinicians, leading researchers, and the most modern equipment and technology in healthcare today.
About the Unit
The 8G Trauma Neurosurgery Unit at UPMC Presbyterian is a 23-bed progressive care unit caring for neurologic and neurosurgical patients. We are a comprehensive stroke and trauma unit getting admissions for the step-down trauma/stroke patients. A section of our unit is also designated for seizure procedures. There is videotape monitoring of these patients by the EEG technicians.
Responsibilities
As a Critical Care Nurse Specialist, your primary responsibilities will include:
- Providing highly competent patient care and treatment while demonstrating empathy and a passion for learning.
- Establishing relationships with physicians, other care providers, patients, and patients' families to achieve desired patient outcomes throughout the continuum of care.
- Developing and implementing individualized care plans tailored to each patient's unique needs and goals.
- Collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care and ensure seamless transitions between departments.
Requirements
To qualify for this role, you must have at least four years of RN experience, with a BSN preferred. You should also possess the following skills and qualifications:
- A strong background in critical care nursing, preferably in a neurosurgery or neuroscience setting.
- Excellent clinical judgment, critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work productively and effectively within a complex environment, handle multiple/changing priorities, and specialized equipment.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish positive relationships with colleagues, patients, and families.
