Job Summary

Amentum is seeking a skilled General Maintenance Technician III to join our Operations & Maintenance team. This role is responsible for providing intermediate-level expertise in responding to work orders, troubleshooting, and performing emergency and preventive maintenance and repairs on building equipment, fixtures, and systems in a manufacturing environment, including clean rooms.

Key Responsibilities
  • Safely perform functions of the position, including following proper safety guidelines and wearing PPE as required.
  • Operate, maintain, and repair all facility and production-associated equipment in compliance with company regulations and standards.
  • Analyze equipment failures, inspect, replace, alter, and maintain in good repair all building and production services and related equipment.
  • Perform planned maintenance on all building equipment and related services for specific areas while being sensitive and responsive to customer needs.
  • Perform trouble-shooting techniques on mechanical equipment, such as HVAC, pumps, agitators, hydraulic systems, RO/DI purified water systems, compressed air, and other gas equipment and distribution systems to determine problems and effect repairs as promptly and efficiently as possible to minimize downtime.
  • Perform preventative maintenance inspections.
  • Develop and implement planned maintenance procedures, perform job estimates, maintain spare parts inventory, and keep stock persons informed as to parts consumed from inventory.
  • Assist in installing, inspecting new equipment, and servicing installations.
  • Provide support to co-workers, contractors, vendors, project managers, building managers, and engineers as necessary to support project and renovation work.
  • Comply with all governmental, company, and industrial regulations, codes, and standards, health safety practices, and permit systems.
  • Perform preventive maintenance as scheduled in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Respond and provide service and feedback to the customer on all work orders while assuring compliance to codes, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Recommend measures to improve maintenance methods and equipment performance.
  • Operate various measuring, diagnostic, and testing instruments to help provide energy efficiency solutions.
  • Operate a variety of equipment, such as hand tools, laptop computers, and diagnostic hardware, to perform work.
  • Maintain a strict schedule to be successful in the assignment while demonstrating flexibility in the day-to-day activities and scheduling for the benefit of the customer.
  • Other duties as assigned by Manager or Supervisor.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or demonstrated equivalent.
  • Three years of maintenance experience in one of the following trades or demonstrated equivalent combination of education and experience: Industrial HVAC/Industrial Mechanical Machine Repair, or Automotive Repair.
  • Ability to work in an aerial lift or scissor lift at heights up to 30 feet or higher.
  • Must be a US Citizen.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience supporting the Intel customer.
  • Associates degree or trade school certification in Industrial Electrical, Industrial Mechanical, Industrial Technology, HVAC, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of basic electrical theory, sufficient to perform basic electrical repairs to switches and outlets and to replace lighting ballasts.
  • Mechanical skills, sufficient to assist with and perform preventive maintenance and repairs to facility-related equipment.
  • Knowledge of basic refrigeration theory.
  • Knowledge of EPA guidelines.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Experience safely utilizing a wide variety of hand and power tools.
  • Basic computer skills for data entry, email, etc.
Physical Requirements
  • Requires the ability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Requires the ability to regularly climb extension ladders, roof ladder, stepladders, and stairs at least 10 times during shift.
  • Requires the flexibility to bend/stoop, squat repetitive during shift.
  • Requires the ability to regularly kneel repetitive for shift.
  • Requires the ability to move in a 90-degree fashion on a repetitive basis for shift.
  • Requires the ability to stretch/reach on a repetitive basis for shift.
  • Requires the ability to walk extensively throughout the plant during shift.
  • Requires the use of a Company/Client approved utility knife.
  • Requires the ability to differentiate colors pertaining to wire color-coding.
  • Some tasks will require repetitive wrist movement.
  • Requires the ability to interact with all clients in a professional and friendly manner despite periods of stress.

  • Requires ability to use a variety of office equipment and to operate a computer keyboard to access data bases, to send/receive messages and to prepare documents.
  • Requires ability to attend meetings throughout the site and potentially travel to other Amentum, customer, and/or vendor locations in the area, as well as some air travel to more distant locations.
  • Requires the ability to communicate with others on the telephone and in one-on-one or group discussions, meetings, and presentations.
  • Demonstrated fluency in computer use including the full Microsoft product line.
  • Requires some moving of light to medium weight materials into desks, filing cabinets, and other storage locations.
  • Requires the ability to interact with all clients in a professional and friendly manner despite periods of stress.
Special Requirements
  • Wear steel toe safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, hard hats, and other Personal Protective Equipment as needed.
  • Cope with demands (stressors) that are associated with the job and/or the work environment so that acceptable levels of performance and overall contribution are maintained.
Other Attributes
  • Must be willing to work overtime when required.
  • May be required to work holidays and weekends.
  • Work schedules can change based on critical business needs.
