Position: Production Manager

ROLE SUMMARY

The Production Manager is responsible for collaborating with all production and site personnel to meet production goals as outlined in the operational schedule. This role requires the ability to prioritize tasks effectively to ensure the success of the production team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Work closely with production and maintenance teams to execute production activities that enhance operational efficiency.
  2. Provide strategic direction to production department personnel.
  3. Analyze performance reports regularly and contribute to their development.
  4. Foster a culture of continuous improvement by implementing cost-effective solutions.
  5. Oversee all production staff, including hiring, scheduling, training, and disciplinary actions to ensure safe and efficient operations.
  6. Conduct daily meetings with foremen to discuss work plans and provide guidance on objectives.
  7. Review performance tracking sheets and make informed decisions for enhancements.
  8. Assist in mine planning and manage multiple resource deposits.
  9. Build and maintain vendor relationships in accordance with company policies.
  10. Continuously seek improvements in equipment, methods, and processes.
  11. Collaborate with Maintenance to align maintenance and production needs while assessing risks and opportunities.
  12. Recommend and help develop action plans for ongoing operational enhancements.
  13. Reinforce safety practices and ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
  14. Oversee safety investigations and initiate corrective action reports.
  15. Assist in preparing accurate annual budgets and update production and financial forecasts.
  16. Act as a substitute for the Project Manager when necessary.
  17. Perform additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Capability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to perform under pressure and in challenging conditions.
  • Teamwork, problem-solving, and negotiation skills are essential.
  • Willingness to work in various environmental conditions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with production tracking software.
  • Experience with heavy mining equipment and drill and blast operations.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

To qualify for this position, candidates must possess:

  • A High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • A minimum of five years of relevant experience in mine production or heavy civil construction.

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES

Candidates must hold:

  • A valid Driver's License.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Physical Requirements:

Regularly required to sit, stand, climb, walk, lift, push/pull, carry, grasp, reach, stoop, crouch, crawl, talk, and hear. Must have the ability to see clearly at distances of 20 feet or more, with or without corrective lenses.
