Job Title: Registered Nurse - Cardiac Intermediate Critical Care Unit

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Cardiac Intermediate Critical Care Unit team at UMC Health System. As a Registered Nurse in this unit, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to adult and geriatric patients who require a higher level of care than can be provided on medical floors.

About the Unit:

Our 32-bed Cardiac Intermediate Critical Care Unit is a fast-paced and high-energy environment where teamwork is essential. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to provide individualized care to patients with complex medical needs. Orientation is individually based and can last between 8-12 weeks, depending on the needs of the new team member.

Responsibilities:
  • Assess, implement, or delegate, plan, and evaluate total nursing care and functions in accordance with established philosophy.
  • Provide and direct patient care for a group of patients.
  • Relate effectively with other shifts/departments for optimal continuity of care.
Qualifications:
  • Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing.
  • Valid Texas RN License/Eligible Compact License.
  • Must maintain a current BLS & ACLS certification from American Heart Association.
  • BSN required or must be obtained within 3 years of hire.
  • PCCN Certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year of acute care experience.
