Postdoctoral Researcher in Coastal Hydrobiogeochemistry
Job Description:
As a postdoctoral researcher at Argonne National Laboratory, you will be part of a team focused on advancing our understanding of coastal hydrobiogeochemistry and its applications using synchrotron-based techniques. Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Developing and applying novel biogeochemical methods to study the dynamics of biogeochemical processes in coastal systems.
- Collaborating with colleagues to design and conduct experiments at Department of Energy national user facilities.
- Participating in interdisciplinary discussions to inform the development of new research directions.
- Communicating research findings through publications in top-tier scientific journals, presentations at conferences, and reports to funding agencies.
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- A Ph.D. in Environmental Microbiology, Environmental Chemistry, Biogeochemistry, or Soil Science within the last 0-5 years.
- Experience with synchrotron-based techniques and their applications in environmental science.
- Knowledge of biogeochemical processes and their importance in environmental science.
- Skill in conceiving and designing experiments to advance knowledge in environmental biogeochemistry.
- Skill in laboratory procedures and protocols for testing scientific hypotheses.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
This is a full-time, long-term position that requires working onsite in Lemont, Illinois, for at least 3 days per week. We offer a competitive salary range based on experience, which is estimated to be between $60,000 and $80,000 per year, depending on qualifications.
