Job Summary

The Regional Airport Manager is a key leadership role responsible for driving sales and operational excellence across a portfolio of airports. This individual will lead and support a team of Business Operations Managers, implementing best practices and providing guidance to ensure maximum performance of respective airports within their portfolio.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support Airport Business Operations Managers in achieving budgeted revenue targets for their portfolios.
  • Implement targeted, customer-centric initiatives to drive revenue growth, leveraging appropriate resources and partnering with key stakeholders.
  • Drive revenue goal attainment through revenue reporting, projections, and sales activity tracking.
  • Implement best practices regarding sales, marketing, and operational objectives for respective airports within the assigned portfolio.
  • Create a forum for assigned Airport Business Operations Managers to regularly communicate and address issues, as well as share learnings around evergreen growth opportunities.
  • Serve as a sounding board and elevation point for challenges and issues within the team and associated portfolio to Director, VP, and Senior Management Team.
  • Assist Airport Business Operations Managers in developing near- and long-term comprehensive business plans to achieve quarterly and annual qualitative and quantitative objectives.
  • Implement targeted, customer-centric initiatives to drive revenue growth, leveraging appropriate resources and partnering with key stakeholders.
  • Work closely with all departments to drive and support portfolio revenue goal attainment, both quarterly and annually, and assist with revenue projections and forecasts.
  • Work closely with Sales, Marketing, and Revenue Management to drive and support market-specific and portfolio program development and implementation, as well as inventory packaging and pricing to drive revenues and achieve business objectives.
  • Coordinate with Director, VP, and other Regional Managers to create consistent presentations of marketplace insights to generate new opportunities and help grow share with the existing customer base within the portfolio.
  • Engage with National, Local, and Import organizations, as well as their supporting teams, to develop impactful and effective marketing resources.
  • Work with Senior Management, Airport Business Operations Managers, Sales, Development, and Operations staff in a multi-market region to set targets and standards for revenues, productivity, safety, costs, airport contract compliance, rate and occupancy, inventory control, and purchasing.
  • Implement enterprise-wide changes in policies, practices, methods, applications, tools, and other standardization initiatives.
  • Foster positive higher-level partnerships with airports and other stakeholders, such as airlines and airport concessions, to enhance revenue opportunities.
  • Perform other duties and/or projects as assigned.
Job Qualifications

Education and Certifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent combination of education, training, experience, or military experience.

Work Experience

  • 5+ years of leadership in sales, marketing, development, properties, and/or project management with specific accomplishments in strategic roles (i.e., empowering and supporting sales teams, building and/or managing client relationships with all levels of an organization, driving cultural change).

Skills

  • A strong sales and service mindset – exceptional people management and team performance experience.
  • Knowledge of media and advertising industry, business cycles, and key revenue and expense drivers. Deep and broad business acumen with strong analytical, critical thinking, decision-making, and problem-solving skills focused on achieved business results.
  • Able to multi-task and balance multiple priorities.
  • Demonstrated experience with sales organizations, including experience building and developing teams.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills, including delivering effective presentations and leading meetings.
  • Ability to identify root cause of issues and quickly work to resolve them.
  • Proficient in Microsoft software applications (i.e., Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).

  • This job is generally performed in a temperature-controlled airport environment. The requirements of the job include occasional exposure to dust and fumes. Duties are occasionally performed evening or late-night hours.
  • Able to walk through airport terminals of varying sizes.

Other Requirements

  • Must possess a valid driver's license.
  • Able to travel up to 30-40% of the time for periodic corporate meetings, sales-related meetings, spend time with team members, and industry events.
  • When needed, able to work beyond normal business hours to help meet critical deadlines.
