As a Pharmacist at the University of Virginia, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and effective use of medications. Your expertise will be essential in providing optimal drug product selection, dosage regimen design, and effective administration services to patients in the Medical Center.


  • Enter prescribing clinician orders into the appropriate computer application.
  • Process prescribing clinician's orders (prescriptions).
  • Oversee pharmacy technicians' work.
  • Provide drug information to patients, caregivers, and providers.
  • Perform pharmacy functions according to Federal, State, local Health System, and Department statutes, regulations, and published guideline documents.

Position Compensation Range:
$83.94 Hourly

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education:
Minimum of Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy; PharmD preferred.

Experience:
No experience required

Licensure:
Commonwealth of Virginia State Board of Pharmacy License. American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Job requires standing and walking for prolonged periods. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull < 20lbs. May be exposed to chemicals.
