Responsibilities:

  • Lead tax compliance and advisory efforts for clients, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of services.
  • Review federal and multi-state partnership tax returns, identifying areas for improvement and implementing best practices.
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients, working collaboratively with partners to execute day-to-day tax matters and develop extended services.
  • Conduct research and provide technical guidance on complex tax matters and special projects.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, providing superior service and proactively building relationships to drive business growth.
  • Participate in business development efforts, collaborating with partners and marketing professionals to target and build relationships with client prospects.
  • Manage, train, and develop staff, participating in performance review processes to ensure team success.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Pursue ongoing professional development through CPE, firm events, webinars, and other learning opportunities to maintain technical competency and industry expertise.
  • Review tax-related information, including tax provisions, depreciation schedules, property tax returns, and more.
  • Lead multi-disciplined client service teams for account planning, driving strategic initiatives and delivering results.
  • Prepare and review client correspondence, ensuring clear and effective communication.
  • Participate in firm-sponsored events, engaging with industry-specific and regional clients and prospects.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • CPA certification required in the respective state of practice.
  • At least 10+ years of relevant job experience.
  • High Net Worth tax experience essential.
  • Prior accounting and/or tax experience necessary.
  • Subject matter expert in similar accounting and/or tax services.
  • Management and/or mentoring experience with other staff members.
  • Experience making recommendations to management.
  • Prior public accounting experience desired.

As a Tax Compliance Manager at Wipfli, you can expect a competitive salary of $120,000 - $160,000 per year, depending on location and experience. Our team is led by Amanda Feltner, who will guide you through this process.
