Job Description and Salary

We are seeking experienced Plumber and Pipefitter Mechanics for our large construction team in the Richmond area. As a Plumber Mechanic or Pipefitter, you will layout, fabricate, assemble, and install plumbing and piping systems on commercial projects such as hospitals, data centers, high-rises, universities, and government facilities.

The estimated salary for this position is $**80,000 - $110,000 per year**, based on experience and location.

Responsibilities

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Laying out, fabricating, assembling, and installing plumbing and piping systems
  • Cutting pipe using various tools and equipment
  • Threading pipe using a threading machine
  • Joining piping using welded, grooved, threaded, soldered, brazed, fused, or cemented joints
  • Testing piping systems for leaks
  • Maintaining a clean and safe work area
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • Work experience as a Plumber Mechanic or Pipefitter for commercial construction projects (journeyman level experience preferred)
  • Experience with layouts and ability to read and work from drawings
  • Ability to direct and support the work of a helper or apprentice
  • Safety-minded and knowledge of OSHA safety regulations
  • Initiative; self-motivated, self-starter
  • Knowledge of basic construction/shop math
  • Positive attitude and willingness to work in a team environment
