Bard DNA Associate Director and Restorative Practices Facilitator

Bard College is seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to serve as the Associate Director and Restorative Practices Facilitator for the Bard DNA program at Bard High School Early College Queens.

About the Bard DNA Program

The Bard DNA program is a student-led initiative that aims to create an inclusive and safe school environment for students who have been historically underrepresented in postsecondary higher education. The program provides a network of support, resources, and community for students, and seeks to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Job Summary

The Associate Director and Restorative Practices Facilitator will work closely with the Director of Bard DNA to support the program's goals and objectives. This includes taking a leadership role in student-facing aspects of the program, such as the Bard DNA Student Leadership Team, the Bard DNA Peer Mentoring Program, and the Bard DNA Fellows Program. The successful candidate will also work closely with the Principal and Assistant Principals to provide support to the Student Support Team and serve as a resource for the school community.

Responsibilities
  • Support the Director of Bard DNA in accomplishing organizational goals and achieving the program's vision
  • Take a leadership role in student-facing aspects of the program, including the Bard DNA Student Leadership Team, the Bard DNA Peer Mentoring Program, and the Bard DNA Fellows Program
  • Work closely with the Principal and Assistant Principals to provide support to the Student Support Team and serve as a resource for the school community
  • Develop and implement effective mentorship programming and workshops to support student development and leadership
  • Manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in education, counseling, sociology, or a related field, and 1-2 years of relevant professional experience. The successful candidate will also have a strong background and experience in leadership roles, a commitment to diversity and inclusion, and experience working with and supporting historically marginalized students.
