Canine Behavior Specialist

Coyne Veterinary Center Crown Point is seeking a skilled Dog Trainer to provide exceptional training services to our clients and their pets.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of canine behavior and training principles, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct group training sessions with clients and their dogs, evaluating their dispositions and temperaments.
- Provide regular progress updates to clients and teach them how to reinforce good behavior.
- Develop and implement training plans for dogs, documenting their progress and identifying areas for improvement.
- Consult with clients to discuss their behavioral concerns and training needs.
- Teach dogs to obey basic commands using various training techniques tailored to each dog's personality and attributes.
- Implement appropriate training programs to address and resolve problem areas, including aggression, separation anxiety, hyperactivity, and biting.
Requirements:
- At least 2 years of experience in dog training, utilizing proper animal handling and restraint techniques.
- Strong understanding of canine conditioning principles and behavior modification.
- Exceptional customer service skills and ability to work evenings and weekends.
- Able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and work in noisy conditions.
