Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Speech Language Pathologist to join our team at a Skilled Nursing Facility in Portsmouth, Virginia. This is a 13-week in-person opportunity that will allow you to make a meaningful impact on the lives of our patients.

As a Speech Language Pathologist, you will play a critical role in evaluating, diagnosing, and treating patients with communication, swallowing, and cognitive disorders. Your expertise will help improve patients' ability to communicate effectively, regain swallowing function, and enhance their overall quality of life.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations and develop tailored treatment plans for patients' speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders.
  • Provide direct therapy services in a Skilled Nursing Facility setting, collaborating with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure seamless care.
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed, ensuring the highest level of care and patient satisfaction.
  • Educate patients, families, and caregivers on communication and swallowing strategies and home exercises, empowering them to take an active role in their care.
  • Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with regulatory standards and reimbursement requirements, ensuring seamless billing and reimbursement processes.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • Current state license or certification in Speech-Language Pathology.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), or eligibility for CCC.
  • Experience working within a medical setting, preferably in a Skilled Nursing Facility or similar setting.
