Pharmacy Support Specialist

Cedar Recovery, LLC is a leading provider of outpatient treatment services, utilizing evidence-based treatment modalities to deliver an integrated model of care for medical, counseling, and therapeutic interventions. Our goal is to address the individual needs of each patient and promote long-term sustainable recovery from substance use disorder.
We specialize in treating opioid use disorder with medications such as Buprenorphine and/or Naltrexone (MAT).
Responsibilities- Under the supervision of a pharmacist, assist in the practice of pharmacy, adhering to state, federal, and company policies.
- Perform duties as assigned by the Pharmacy Manager or Staff Pharmacist, including utilizing pharmacy systems to enter patient and drug information, ensuring accuracy, and filling prescriptions by retrieving, counting, and pouring pharmaceutical drugs.
- Verify medicine is correct and check for possible interactions, reporting any prescription errors to the pharmacist on duty.
- Register all related sales on assigned cash registers, collect and handle cash as required.
- Handle telephone calls that do not require personal attention of the pharmacist, including those to providers.
- Collaborate with the Cedar Recovery admin, medical, and therapy team to ensure best-in-class care alongside the pharmacist and other stakeholders.
- Work with the Pharmacist to identify, evaluate, and implement process improvement and optimization opportunities.
- Assist and support the Pharmacy Department on inventory management activities, such as ordering, unpacking, checking, and storing shipments of pharmaceuticals.
- Maintain knowledge of Company asset protection techniques.
- Assist with exterior and interior maintenance by ensuring the Pharmacy Department is stocked with adequate supplies, clean, neat, and orderly in condition and appearance.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures, maintaining respectful relationships with coworkers.
- Complete special assignments and other tasks as assigned by the Pharmacy Manager.
- High school diploma
- Current pharmacy technician certificate/registration
- Effective computer and keyboard skills
- Strong communication skills, both written and oral
- Strong prioritization skills and ability to make decisions independently and effectively
- Able to operate equipment such as computers, scan guns, tablet counters, and cash registers
- Familiarity with pharmacy practice settings, legal requirements and limitations, prescription information and calculations, drug identification and generic equivalents, drug manufacturing, packaging and labeling information, and proper drug handling and storage practices
This role operates in a professional treatment environment, utilizing standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and fax machines.
This is a full-time position (40 hours per week), with days and hours of work being Monday through Thursday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
