Immigration Attorney

Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive legal representation to clients facing removal proceedings, including but not limited to asylum claims, cancellation of removal, waivers, and other forms of relief.
- Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to develop effective case strategies tailored to the individual circumstances of each client.
- Prepare and file motions, briefs, and other legal documents with immigration courts and USCIS.
- Represent clients at immigration court hearings, USCIS interviews, and other proceedings.
- Communicate with clients to explain legal options, provide updates on case progress, and address any concerns or questions.
- Collaborate with other attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to ensure efficient case management and delivery of high-quality legal services.
- Stay abreast of changes in immigration law, policies, and procedures to effectively advocate for clients and provide accurate legal advice.
- Participate in community outreach and education initiatives to raise awareness of immigration issues and resources available to immigrant communities.
- Maintain accurate and organized case files, records, and billing information in accordance with firm policies and ethical standards.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the bar in good standing in at least one U.S. state.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience practicing immigration law with a focus on removal defense and USCIS matters although recent grads who passed the bar will be considered.
- Fluency in both Spanish and English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills in both languages.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated commitment to serving immigrant communities and advancing social justice.
- Proficiency in using legal research tools, case management software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience representing clients in complex removal proceedings, including cases involving criminal issues, domestic violence, and trafficking.
- Prior experience working with vulnerable populations, such as unaccompanied minors, asylum seekers, and victims of persecution.
- Additional language proficiency beyond Spanish and English, particularly in languages commonly spoken by immigrant communities.
