Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and organized individual to fill the role of Administrative Assistant, Alternative. This position provides critical support to our alternative school team, ensuring seamless day-to-day operations and enabling teachers to focus on what matters most - student learning.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative support to the principal and teachers, including record keeping, communication, and data management.
  • Receive and direct office visitors, maintaining a professional and welcoming atmosphere.
  • Assist students and parents with inquiries and concerns, promoting a positive and supportive school community.
  • Manage appointments, conferences, and other events, ensuring efficient use of time and resources.
  • Prepare and edit documents, reports, and presentations, demonstrating attention to detail and strong writing skills.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential files, adhering to district policies and procedures.
  • Sort, distribute, and manage mail, packages, and other correspondence.
  • Arrange substitute staffing, as needed, to ensure continuity of instruction.
  • Distribute paychecks and handle petty cash transactions, exercising financial responsibility.
  • Order supplies, equipment, and materials, ensuring timely delivery and effective resource management.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
  • Three years of clerical experience, with a focus on administrative support and customer service.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and technical skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, work independently, and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
Working Conditions

This role requires frequent standing, walking, sitting, speaking, and hearing. The employee must be able to reach with their hands and arms, lift items weighing less than 40 pounds, and communicate effectively with diverse groups of people.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $21.43 to $22.39 per hour, commensurate with experience. Additionally, we provide a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
