Job Description: We are seeking a dedicated Workers' Compensation Claims Specialist to support our attorneys in managing workers' compensation cases. The ideal candidate will track deadlines, maintain organized case files, and prepare documents for filing. Strong organizational and communication skills are essential for this role.

Responsibilities:

  1. Manage high-volume workers' compensation cases, including tracking deadlines and maintaining organized case files.
  2. Prepare, file, and maintain documents related to workers' compensation cases, such as petitions, applications, medical records, and motions.
  3. Serve as primary point of contact for clients, updating them on case progress and responding to questions under attorney guidance.
  4. Collect, organize, and review medical records, bills, and other supporting documents necessary for case preparation.
  5. Conduct research on relevant laws and regulations, including updates on workers' compensation statutes and procedural changes in Maryland.
  6. Schedule appointments, hearings, and meetings, and coordinate with opposing counsel, medical providers, and clients.

Qualifications:
  1. Paralegal certification or relevant degree preferred; bachelor's degree in legal studies or a related field is a plus.
  2. Minimum of 2 years of experience as a paralegal, preferably in workers' compensation or personal injury law.
  3. Strong organizational, time-management, and multitasking skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.
  4. Technical proficiency in legal research databases and case management software. Strong computer skills, particularly with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Salary and Benefits: We offer a competitive salary of $65,000 per year, health insurance, paid time off, retirement benefits, and opportunities for professional development. This is an in-office position, and candidates must be available to work full-time hours onsite at our Rockville, Maryland office (Mon-Fri, 9am-6pm).
