Job Description

Rittal is seeking a highly skilled Production Control Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our production controlling team, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of production control, ensuring efficient operations that meet deadlines and expectations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge on company objectives, production strategies, and support activities.
  • Review production orders, analyze production capacities, and establish priorities and schedules accordingly.
  • Utilize SAP PP and MM modules to create detailed finite schedules with sequences for production, breaking down work into individual workstations.
  • Account for production capacities, constraints, and material limitations during schedule creation.
  • Employ strong scheduling and sequencing skills to optimize production flow.
  • Coordinate with Internal logistics & warehouse to develop inventory control techniques to avoid shortages and excesses.
  • Plan and monitor material movement in production cycles to ensure continuous operations by using MRP.
  • Utilize very good Excel skills for data analysis and report generation.
  • Review production plans to identify and report potential risks to management.
  • Develop dynamic planning of activities across multi-functional teams and workstations to ensure optimal sequence of work.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in production control within a manufacturing setting.
  • In-depth knowledge of SAP PP and MM modules, with APO PP DS experience a plus.
  • Technical background in education or relevant work experience.
  • Very good Excel skills & MS office.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Understanding and experience of Lean principles (demand flow, Kanban, JIT).
Preferred Qualifications:
  • A 4-year degree in Production Planning, Manufacturing, or Inventory Control Disciplines.
Physical Requirements:

Requires long durations on the manufacturing floor and/or long durations in the office at a computer. Stand, walk, bend, twist, and reach frequently throughout the work shift. Must be able to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds, waist level.

Mental Requirements:

Work in a fast-paced environment, adapt to assignment changes easily, ability to multi-task, learn office procedures and learn and use new software.

Must be detail oriented; communicate effectively via oral and written communications with all levels of employees, customers and vendors. Self-starter willing to work through and seek answers to on going new requirements. Must be able to work with minimum supervision.

Safety Requirements:

Wear safety-toed footwear, safety glasses with side shields, hearing protection and additional personal protective equipment where required.

Direction & Decision Making:

Complete directives given either verbally or written, make and assist in determining logical decisions.

Relationship:

Direct Contacts: Production Control Manager, Production Control Supervisor, Production Planning & Control Team Members, Internal logistics & Raw material warehouse team, Buyers, Managers, Supervisors, internal and external vendors and customers

Indirect Contacts: All other departments throughout the plant

Work Environment: Must work in both office and plant floor environment.
