In this challenging and rewarding role, the Pediatric Nurse Specialist will provide high-quality care to pediatric patients at our El Paso Children's Hospital. This position requires a highly skilled nurse who can work effectively in a fast-paced environment, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure exceptional patient outcomes.

Responsibilities:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate nurse to join our team as a Pediatric Nurse Specialist. Key responsibilities include:
  • Providing direct patient care to pediatric patients, including assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating their nursing needs.
  • Collaborating with physicians, interdisciplinary teams, and patients/families to develop comprehensive care plans.
  • Utilizing critical thinking skills to identify and prioritize patient needs, making sound judgments to ensure optimal care delivery.

  Required Skills:

To excel in this role, you will need to possess the following skills and qualifications:
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills to analyze complex patient situations.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills to collaborate with healthcare teams and communicate patient information to families.
  • Strong interpersonal relationship skills to build trust with patients, families, and colleagues.
  • Ability to utilize computers for documentation purposes, maintaining accurate and timely records.
  • Ability to read and comprehend English at a level necessary to follow written and oral instructions and safety precautions.

  Education and Experience:

As a Pediatric Nurse Specialist, you will require:
  • A current RN License to practice in the State of Texas.
  • Current CPR (from the American Heart Association).
  • PALS (required for charge nurses only).
  • A Graduate from an accredited school of nursing or Employee Degree in Nursing. BSN preferred.

  Location and Benefits:

This full-time, day shift position is based at our El Paso Children's Hospital location, offering competitive compensation and benefits, including a salary range of $62,000 - $82,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
