Job Summary

Discovery Solutions, Inc. is seeking a skilled Packaging Operator to oversee the setup, operation, and maintenance of packaging line equipment and ancillary support equipment.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of packaging materials and processes, as well as excellent problem-solving skills to ensure consistent quality and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate packaging line equipment and ancillary support equipment
  • Replenish packaging materials, including wrapping paper, plastic sheets, boxes, cartons, and labeling systems
  • Inspect in-process packaging to ensure quality and consistency
  • Remove defective products and packaging materials
  • Segregate finished packaged items from rejected items
  • Conduct inventory counts of finished and rejected packaged items
  • Monitor packaging and filling operations to ensure quality and conformity with standards
  • Observe the production line to prevent bottlenecks, jams, and other issues
  • Meet production and product quality standards while maintaining a safe and sanitary environment
  • Perform light-duty maintenance work, general housekeeping, and assist maintenance or other team members as needed
  • Be punctual and available for each scheduled shift

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

Additional Information:

This is a rotating shift position with varying hours worked per week, including 3 on 2 off, 2 on 3 off, and 2 on 2 off schedules.
