About the Role

Sunrun is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Solar Operations Technician to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the successful installation and operation of solar energy systems for our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform solar, electrical, or building inspections as scheduled to ensure compliance with relevant codes and regulations.
  • Coordinate inspections with customers and jurisdictions to ensure timely completion and successful sign-off.
  • Maintain an organized and efficient calendar to highlight existing appointments and availability for additional inspections.
  • Build a positive and lasting customer experience by discussing project timelines, addressing concerns, and communicating internally.
  • Use software systems to record, maintain, and update project-specific deliverables and tasks.
  • Complete minor punch list items, such as painting conduit, applying NEC stickers/placards, etc.
Requirements
  • Previous experience in PV design, installation, or electrical work, including knowledge of National Electric Code and basic electrical theory.
  • Minimum of one year of field construction experience preferred.
  • Must be 21 years of age, possess a valid driver's license, and maintain a clean driving record with the ability to pass a driving background check.
  • Adhere to company safety policies and procedures, including identifying and reporting safety hazards and encouraging others to work safely.
  • Strong communication skills to offer exceptional customer service and interact with customers in a courteous and professional manner.
Physical Demands
  • Ability to work on rooftops with various angles and surfaces, requiring frequent bending, twisting, squatting, climbing, kneeling, crawling, turning, standing, and balance.
  • Ability to transport materials and equipment to complete assigned job tasks (up to 50 pounds frequently).
  • Ability to work and maintain balance on roofs and other areas of height.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces, such as attics, basements, and crawl spaces, which requires kneeling and crouching.
  • Ability to work in outdoor weather conditions, including excessive noise, extreme heat, extreme cold, wet environment, and humidity.
  • Ability to frequently utilize hand functions requiring fine motor skills, including fine manipulation, grasping, and pinching.
  • Ability to work within the safe range of equipment, such as ladders, fall protection harnesses, and other personal protective equipment.
  • Ability to hear verbal commands and warnings.
  • Ability to walk on rafters, roof tiles, and roof shingles without damage.
  • Ability to work in the sun and possibly low light conditions.
