We're seeking a highly skilled Senior Reporter, Technology Expert to contribute to our technology research coverage at Insider Intelligence, the leading provider of research on digital markets. As a Senior Reporter, you'll cover a wide range of technologies with an eye on how they influence marketing, media, and commerce. Your focus will be on artificial intelligence, immersive media, and connectivity, but technology changes quickly, and so will your coverage. You'll build a reputation as an industry-leading authority on technology who will act as Insider Intelligence's go-to source for clients, media reporters, and experts. This is a role for someone with a deep understanding of both consumer-facing technologies and the media world. You must be willing to put a stake in the ground on future predictions, trendlines, and disruptors—and have the knowledge and arguments to back them up.
The Ideal Candidate Is:
- A flexible, self-driven leader who sets a high standard with their work.
- A clear writer and thinker who can take complex and fast-changing technology trends and explain them in concise and clear language for an advertising, media, and retail audience.
- A curious researcher with strong data storytelling skills who can look at many data points and find the key insights across data sets—bringing information and narratives to our clients in ways that matter to their business.
- An impeccable communicator who is equally adept at report writing, public speaking, and media appearances.
- A skilled interviewer with a network of strong relationships across the industry.
- A client-focused thinker with the drive and skills to meet pressing client needs.
- A team player who is committed to collaborating across the organization, but who can work equally well independently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver cogent, actionable, and data-driven reports on technology topics for our audience of advertisers, media platforms, and retailers.
- Serve as the voice for Insider Intelligence research by delivering compelling presentations at top industry conferences and webinars, representing the company in media appearances and interviews, and participating in sales calls with clients and prospects.
- Ensure high-quality deliverables are published on schedule.
- Work closely and collaboratively with dedicated teams of researchers, forecasters, and editors, and with functional units outside the content team.
- Stay on top of changing patterns in technology usage and time spent, and their effect on media consumption, so you can help clients understand what those metrics and trends mean for brand awareness, consideration, and conversions.
Desired Skills & Experience:
- Experience in a role involving writing and analysis centered on technology and how consumers engage with it.
- Experience with public appearances, which could include presentations, events, media appearances or interviews, or webinars.
- Exceptional writing, charting, and data comparison and analysis skills.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Excel and PowerPoint skills.
Salary & Benefits:
- Base salary: $95,000-115,000 (dependent on skills & experience)
- Medical, health & vision
- 401k plan with match
- Additional benefits including commuter benefits, phone reimbursement, gym membership discounts etc.
