Critical Care Nurse

At Roosevelt General Hospital and Clinics, we are seeking a highly skilled Critical Care RN to join our team. As a Critical Care RN, you will provide direct and indirect patient advanced care in the critical care setting. You will communicate with physicians, Nurse Manager, and co-workers as appropriate about changes in patient's clinical condition, including results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology.
Key Responsibilities- Patient Care: Provide patient care responsibilities considering needs specific to the standard of care for patient's age.
- Assessment and Reassessment: Perform a head-to-toe assessment on all patients and reassessments as per policy.
- Wound Care and Medication Administration: Provide wound care, medication administration, and intravenous medication as needed.
- Cardiac Rhythms: Interpret cardiac rhythms and revise standard of care as indicated by the patient's response to treatment.
- Pain Management: Assess and reassess pain management techniques utilized and educate the patient and family regarding pain management.
- Teaching and Education: Formulate a teaching plan based upon identified learning needs and evaluates effectiveness of learning, family is included in teaching as appropriate.
- Education and Certification: Current registered nurse licensure in the state of New Mexico or nursing compact license, Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification, and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
- Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of nursing services, strong organizational and interpersonal skills, ability to determine appropriate course of action in more complex situations, and ability to work independently.
As a Critical Care RN at Roosevelt General Hospital and Clinics, you will work in a physically demanding, high-stress environment with exposure to blood and body fluids, communicable diseases, chemicals, radiation, and repetitive motions.
