Job Summary:The successful candidate will provide direct nursing care to adults experiencing mental health and substance use disorders. This includes administering medications, providing medical/health screening, and conducting psychiatric nursing assessments. The ideal candidate will have experience working with adults in a psychiatric setting and possess excellent communication, documentation, and time management skills.
Responsibilities:- Provide nursing services (primarily med/somatic) on-site and within communities to clients with a psychiatric nursing focus
- Administer medications and injections and provide medical/health screening and minor physical health duties (dressing changes/blood pressure screening/monitoring glucose levels/etc.)
- Provide psychiatric nursing assessment of individual clients as it relates to medication complications
- Assess the effectiveness of psychotropic medication therapy and educate clients on topics such as medications, side effects, and drug interactions
- Attend ACT team meetings and may be assigned to initiate, coordinate, and monitor evaluations necessary to identify patient needs
- OH Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license
- Experience working with persons who have chronic mental illness preferred
- Excellent communication, documentation, and time management skills
- Ability to be flexible with work schedule and assignments
