Ultrasound Technician PRN Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Ultrasound Technician PRN to join our team at Centerpoint Medical Center. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our hospital.

Job Summary

Under the direction of a radiologist, the Ultrasound Technician PRN will be responsible for performing sonography procedures, including routine sonograms and interventional sonograms, including biopsies. You will work closely with our team to ensure that patients receive accurate and timely diagnoses.

Responsibilities
  • Perform sonography procedures, including routine sonograms and interventional sonograms, including biopsies
  • Participate in Performance Improvement and Quality Improvement activities
  • Work within the guidelines established in the policies and procedure manual and comply with all safety and infection control guidelines
  • Work in accordance with JCAHO, State, or other regulatory or accreditation agencies in the performance of duties
Requirements
  • Graduate from an accredited program in Radiologic Technology and/or School of Sonography
  • Two-year program or four-year BA program in Radiology Technology followed by training in sonography or completion of requirements from an accredited school in sonography, including meeting all clinical requirements
  • ARDMS and RVT registration required within 12 months of hire
  • Minimum of one-year hospital department experience in medical sonography to include biopsies
  • Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, or Registered Radiographer (ARRT), or RDMS OB/GYN Specialty, or RDMS Abdomen Specialty
