Penn State Health Clinical Staff Leader Job Description

Job Summary:

The Clinical Staff Leader will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care and promoting optimal patient outcomes. This role will involve providing clinical patient care and assisting in the review of staffing based on patient acuity and needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the quality of patient care delivery in a specific patient care area
  • Assist in reviewing staffing based on patient acuity and needs
  • Assess nursing service needs relative to the needs of patients within the unit
  • Recommend corrective actions when necessary

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or Master's Degree in Nursing required
  • Two (2) years clinical experience required
  • Progressive leadership experience required
  • Currently licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse by state of employment or holds a multistate RN license through the interstate Nurse Licensure Compact
  • AHA BLS prior to end of orientation period
