About the Role

Amazon is seeking a dedicated Electrical Vehicle (EV) Safety Specialist to join our team. This role involves collaborating with various engineering teams to ensure new equipment and modifications to existing EV infrastructure comply with applicable codes, regulations, and standards.

Responsibilities
  • Partner with Amazon Worldwide Design Engineering teams to ensure compliance with codes, regulations, and standards
  • Lead process hazard analyses (PHAs), assist in designing safe equipment, and provide guidance on controls and devices
  • Develop and review equipment designs, communicating results to senior leadership
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field
  • 5+ years of program or project management experience
  • Experience owning program strategy, end-to-end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership
  • Knowledge of certification bodies for approvals that comply with local, national, and international regulations
  • Experience working within a global company, with global or multi-country responsibilities
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in mechanical, structural, electrical, or industrial engineering
  • CSME or other functional safety certification
  • Demonstrated ability to be flexible, adapting to meet customer, business, and program stakeholder needs
About the Team

The Global Process Safety Management (PSM) team ensures the safe design and reliable operation of facilities containing Highly Hazardous Chemicals (HHCs). Our mission is to provide support for Amazon to achieve the 2040 Climate Pledge responsibly and safely.

Program Strategy
  • Technology – Process Safety Information, Process Hazard Analysis (PHA), Safe work practices
  • Facilities – Mechanical Integrity, Pre-Start-up Safety Reviews, Management of Change (MOC)
  • Personnel – Process Safety Training, Process Safety Incident Investigations
  • Audit and Assurance – Monitor program performance and maturation
Compensation and Benefits

This position offers a competitive salary range, based on location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The base pay for this position ranges from $104,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Additionally, Amazon provides a full range of benefits, including medical, dental, and vision coverage, paid time off, and a 401(k) plan.
