Job Summary

The Catholic Diocese of Kansas City-St Joseph seeks a highly skilled and dedicated professional to serve as the Director of Child and Youth Protection. This critical role is responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of children and youth within the Diocese.

Key Responsibilities

  • Promote a safe and protective environment for children, youth, and vulnerable adults.
  • Oversee the operations of the Child and Youth Protection Office, including victim/survivor services, training and education, and investigations.
  • Monitor compliance with the Essential Norms and the Charter for the Protection of Children and Youth.
  • Manage and supervise staff, including the Victim Assistance Coordinator and the Safe Environment Coordinator.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure the safety and well-being of children and youth.
  • Collaborate with the Diocesan Communications Office to promote victim outreach efforts and actions taken by the Diocese to protect its children and youth.

Requirements

  • Four-year college degree or equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Intermediate level of proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Demonstrated understanding of sexual abuse and trauma-informed care.
  • Practicing Catholic with ethical standards, personal integrity, and conduct consistent with the morals and teachings of the Catholic Church.
